FALLACIES
There was a
statement I came across that fell under the fallacy of false dilemma. False
dilemma this type of fallacy occurs when someone presents their argument in
such a way that there are only two possible options.
For example: “If you don’t vote for this candidate, you must be a Communist.” Just be because you don't vote for a certain candidate doesn't mean your communist it just means you don't want to vote for that candidate. They are many more options on why or why not you would vote for someone. Another fallacy I came across is Circular Reasoning- this fallacy is when an argument takes its proof from a factor within the argument itself, rather than from an external one. For example: “I believe that Frosted Flakes are great because it says so on the Frosted Flakes packaging. Just because the packaging says it's great doesn't necessarily mean that it is you are just assuming that it's great.

MEMORY BIASES
MEMORY BIASES
There are three memory biases that I see a lot with myself or with other people. One of the memory biases is the Google effect; it's the tendency to forget information that can be easily found online. This is one that would always happen to me I would always Google the simplest things that I forgot. Another memory bias is the Humor effect, that humorous items are more easily remembered than bad ones which shows what a person could remember based on how the humor made them feel. I also tend to see the reminiscence bump on my father. He likes to bring up the “old days” a lot and talks about his childhood very much.

DEVELOPMENT: Nature versus Nurture
The case I have was about a 10 - 13 year old boy that robbed a pharmacy in Indianapolis. They described the scene at a CVS store on Monday at 11am. From what officers say he young boy was distressed and was forced to do what he was doing. Clearly his behavior was influenced from the physical or social environment he was raised in. His parents or someone he's afraid of could of sent him to the pharmacy to steal pills. He went to the pharmacy with a list which somebody wrote down the drugs which were wanted he couldn't have written down hose names of pills he needed because he couldn't spell them or pronounce the words. The main focus is to address the root of crime like so.

CONSCIOUSNESS: Analyzing Dreams
I usually
have weird scary dreams, something is always coming for me or running after me.
My most recent dream was about a killer coming for me and my friends. This
dream wasn't new I would always have it and wake up at the end. This dream
would start off of me meeting up with my friends laughing and having fun. By
the end of the night I would look out the window and see a weird figure walking
toward the house with a knife. My friends and I would hide around in this big
house, the killer would char all of us down until it was one person left. Every
time the killer would try to strike me I would wake up. The manifest content of
this dream is that somebody is trying to come kill me just like any other scary
movie plot, however the latent content of the dream is that I'm running from a
problem or obstacle that I've had confronted in my life that still lives in my
subconscious.

SENSATION AND PERCEPTION
Two people can sense the same thing but however perceive it
differently. For example, two people can be blindfolded and have to feel the
roughness of a certain object. One person may perceive it as soft the other
person might think it’s as hard as a rock. It could be the same object but
people may perceive it differently because people are different and have
different physical reactions to certain sensations and different sensory
receptors which send energy to the brain. Some person’s sensory impressions may
be interpreted differently from the next person’s.
I used to perceive homework in high school unnecessary, maybe because I never did it. However being in college made me change my perception of homework I now do it and understand things better when I return to class the following day. Instead of being lost not knowing what was going on, now I’m on point and can follow along in class. I would be in a good mood knowing homework is done and it’s good to have all your assignments turned in.

Self determinism is
a doctrine that the actions of a self are determined by itself. The idea that
people's behavior is made by factors outside their control. Free will is the
idea that behavior is caused by choices that are made by the individual. Free
will is a choice that you would make like going to school or work.
Self-determinism is basically doing for yourself, becoming independent like
instead of the teacher teaching the student, the student would teach himself
not relying on the teacher.

Experiment Proposal
Question of Interest: Does music relieve stress?
Hypothesis: Listening to music can relieve stress and
anxiety.
Operational Definitions: You could experience the emotion
or it could be a physical feeling. Relief from stress and anxiety will
be measured as music can slow down the pulse and heart rate, lowering blood
pressure, and decrease levels of stress hormones.
There are two emotions related to music: perceived emotions and felt emotions.
There are two emotions related to music: perceived emotions and felt emotions.
Perceived
emotions are
emotions that are considered or an emotion that you understand. Felt
emotions are emotions that you would be affected by.
Control Group: The control group would be the group
listening to music regularly for a week
Experimental Group: The experimental group would have not
listened to any music for a week
Research: The
power of music to reduce stress
